Brake Mounting Bracket Assembly

Brake Mounting Bracket Assembly
AutoPart Industries July 2026

This project involved the complete manufacturing of a precision brake mounting bracket assembly for a leading Tier 1 automotive supplier. The component is designed to securely support the vehicle's braking system while maintaining strict dimensional accuracy and structural integrity under demanding operating conditions.

The manufacturing process combined precision metal stamping, robotic and manual welding, and comprehensive quality inspection to meet the customer's production and performance requirements. Every stage of production was optimized for high-volume manufacturing, ensuring consistent quality across all delivered components.

Scope of Work

Our responsibilities for this project included:

  • Progressive die stamping of high-strength steel components.

  • Robotic MIG welding for structural assembly.

  • Manual welding for critical reinforcement areas.

  • Precision fixture assembly and alignment.

  • Dimensional inspection during production.

  • Final CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) verification.

  • Production documentation and quality traceability.

  • Packaging and delivery to the customer's assembly plant.

Manufacturing Capabilities

The project was supported by advanced manufacturing technologies, including:

  • High-speed progressive stamping presses.

  • Robotic welding cells.

  • Dedicated assembly fixtures.

  • In-line dimensional inspection systems.

  • Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) for final validation.

  • Statistical Process Control (SPC) throughout production.

Production Performance

The brake mounting bracket assembly was manufactured under a stable high-volume production program with the following results:

  • Monthly production capacity of 50,000 units.

  • 100% dimensional inspection performed during manufacturing.

  • Final verification using Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).

  • Defect rate maintained below 50 Parts Per Million (PPM).

  • On-time delivery performance exceeding customer production requirements.

  • Full production traceability for every manufacturing batch.

Quality Assurance

To ensure every component met automotive quality standards, the project included:

  • Incoming material verification.

  • In-process dimensional inspections.

  • Weld quality inspections.

  • CMM measurement reports.

  • Visual surface inspection.

  • Statistical process monitoring.

  • Final quality approval before shipment.

Results

The project successfully delivered a highly reliable brake mounting bracket assembly that consistently met customer specifications for accuracy, durability, and production efficiency. By integrating stamping, welding, inspection, and quality control within a single manufacturing workflow, production lead times were reduced while maintaining exceptional consistency across every batch. The combination of automated manufacturing, rigorous inspection procedures, and continuous process monitoring enabled the program to sustain a defect rate below 50 PPM, supporting the customer's stringent automotive quality requirements and long-term production objectives.
